The Adjustable Prop Head(full name:"adjustable supporting prop")is a core load-bearing component in the construction support system that features height adjustment functionality.It achieves lifting and lowering through the cooperation of a lead screw and a nut,and is widely used in scenarios such as formwork support,scaffold erection,and temporary load-bearing.Its core functions are to precisely control the support height and stably transmit vertical loads,making it a key accessory for ensuring construction accuracy and safety.

There are generally specifications for the extension length of construction jacking props,as follows:

The cantilever length of the Adjustable Prop Head extending beyond the top horizontal pole or double-channel steel supporting beam must not exceed 650mm.

The exposed length of the lead screw must not exceed 400mm.

The insertion length of the adjustable supporting base into the vertical pole or double-channel steel beam must not be less than 150mm.

Why Are Such Usage Specifications Established for Construction Jacking Props?

Construction jacking props are used at construction sites,especially in formwork support systems,where Adjustable Prop Heads and adjustable bases are widely applied.Scaffold construction is related to the life safety of workers;therefore,non-compliance with specifications is strictly prohibited,and construction must be carried out in strict accordance with standards.

Selecting the Appropriate Adjustable Jacking Prop and Using It Correctly Is Crucial

1.Clarify Requirements

Preliminarily screen props based on the project type(conventional construction,large-span construction,prefabricated construction),support object(formwork,steel pipes,beams and slabs),load requirements,and adjustment accuracy requirements.

2.Verify Specifications

Confirm whether the prop’s specifications—such as lead screw diameter(commonlyΦ34,Φ38,Φ42,etc.),adjustable height,supporting plate size,and material(usually Q235B)—meet the requirements of the construction plan.

3.Inspect Quality

When purchasing,check the product quality certification documents(certificate of conformity,test report).On-site,inspect whether the threads are clear,free from rust and cracks;whether the supporting plate is flat;and whether the welded joints are firm and free from missing welds.

Correct Installation and Usage

During installation,ensure the insertion length of the prop’s lead screw into the vertical pole complies with specification requirements(generally not less than 150mm).

The top supporting plate should be in full contact with the supported object as much as possible;if necessary,use wooden battens or other materials to level it.

After adjusting to the required height,fully tighten the nut,and ensure all hinged and sliding parts are locked reliably.

For jacking props with clamping plates or partition plates,pre-adjust their positions according to the size of the supported object and fasten them securely.

Overloading is strictly prohibited,and props must not be used in areas where adjustment is not allowed(e.g.,at the joint of vertical poles).

Regular Inspection and Maintenance

Regularly inspect jacking props for deformation,cracks,thread damage,and other defects,and promptly replace substandard products.

Conduct proper cleaning and maintenance to prevent thread seizure due to rust.
