Collapsible scaffolding is an aerial work platform designed with a foldable structure, enabling convenient transportation, storage, and site transfer. It features portability, rapid deployment, high safety, and strong adaptability, and is widely used in various fields such as interior decoration, exterior wall maintenance, and industrial emergency repairs.
I. Core Features
Portability
After folding, its volume is significantly reduced, allowing it to easily pass through stairwells and elevators, and even fit into the trunk of a private car—solving the transportation challenges of traditional scaffolding. For example, a standard 4-meter scaffolding has a volume of only 0.6 cubic meters after folding, significantly improving site transfer efficiency.
Rapid Deployment
With a modular design, it supports single-person operation. No tools are needed for unfolding and folding, and deployment can be completed within 1 minute, saving labor costs. Designs such as buckle connections and non-slip platforms ensure stable assembly and disassembly, enhancing work efficiency.
High Safety
It is mostly made of aluminum alloy (e.g., 6082-T6 aerospace aluminum profiles) or high-strength steel pipes, with a load-bearing capacity of 270 kg per square meter, complying with international standards such as Europe’s DIN4422 and EN1004. It is equipped with safety devices including guardrails, self-locking wheels, and non-slip platforms to reduce the risk of falling from heights.
Strong Adaptability
It can meet diverse needs by combining standard section frames of different heights (e.g., 0.75m or 1.35m single-width frames, or double-layer staggered platforms). Extension arm components can form cantilever inspection platforms, adapting to special scenarios such as industrial maintenance and emergency repairs.
II. Types and Structures
Classification by Material
Aluminum Alloy Collapsible Scaffolding: Features a lightweight design and strong corrosion resistance, suitable for scenarios like shopping mall maintenance and home decoration.
Steel Pipe Collapsible Scaffolding: Lighter in weight (approximately 18kg per unit), suitable for operations with a working height within 3 meters.
Stainless Steel Collapsible Scaffolding: Has good corrosion resistance, suitable for humid or corrosive environments.
Classification by Structure
Angle Steel Folding Type: Welded with angle steel legs, with steel hinges on the top of the herringbone legs and movable hooks between the lower legs. Suitable for low-altitude operations (height ≤ 3.2m) such as wall masonry and painting.
Umbrella-Leg Folding Type: The vertical pipes are equipped with pin holes to fix sleeves and adjust the erection height. The sleeves have socket pipes for fixing beams or trusses, and the lower ends of the vertical pipes are provided with umbrella-rib-shaped legs, which can be opened or folded like an umbrella for easy storage and transportation.
Portal Type: Composed of two types of components—A 型 supports and portal frames. According to the different structural types of supports and portal frames, it is further divided into sleeve type and socket type, suitable for high-rise building construction.
III. Application Scenarios
Interior Decoration
Available in single-width (0.75m) or double-width (1.35m) designs, it meets needs such as wall painting and lamp installation. For example, a double-layer staggered platform can be built in an exhibition hall with a 3.8-meter floor height to achieve full-coverage painting without dead ends.
Industrial Maintenance
After being equipped with extension arm components, it can form a 3-meter cantilever inspection platform, suitable for equipment maintenance and pipeline installation.
Emergency Repairs
The foldable design allows the standard 4-meter scaffolding to have a small storage volume, enabling quick response to emergency tasks, such as post-earthquake building inspection.
IV. Safety Specifications and Operation Key Points
Inspection Before Assembly
Check the integrity of the scaffolding, tools, facilities, and safety equipment used; wear protective gear (such as safety belts and safety helmets) as required. Remove residual materials, tools, and debris from the scaffolding to prevent injuries caused by falling objects.
Assembly Sequence
Dismantle from top to bottom, layer by layer; it is strictly forbidden to work simultaneously at upper and lower levels or push down the scaffolding as a whole. Wall connectors must be dismantled layer by layer along with the scaffold frame; it is strictly forbidden to remove multiple wall connectors in advance.
Usage Restrictions
Immediately stop operations in severe weather such as gales (force 6 or above), heavy rain, or heavy snow. Holes on the floor should be covered with solid covers or enclosed with railings; it is forbidden to walk or work on unfixed components.
Load Control
Overloading is strictly prohibited (≤ 270kg per square meter), and it is forbidden for multiple people to work concentratedly on a single scaffold plank.
