PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Scaffold Support Column, also called scaffold vertical pole or main support post, is the core load-bearing component of scaffold systems. It serves as the vertical backbone, transferring all loads (construction workers, materials, and scaffold itself) from the upper working platform to the ground or foundation. Widely used in building construction, bridge maintenance, and industrial installation, it is essential for ensuring scaffold stability and construction safety.

Its structure focuses on "load-bearing capacity" and "structural rigidity." Typically, it is made of high-quality Q235 or Q355 carbon steel, with a circular cross-section (common diameters: Φ48mm, Φ60mm) for seamless connection with horizontal ledgers and couplers. The column’s wall thickness (3.0-3.5mm for standard types) is designed to resist bending and compression. Some models have pre-drilled holes or cup-shaped joints (for cuplock scaffolds) to enable quick assembly with other scaffold parts, while base plates (80×80mm, thickness ≥4mm) at the bottom increase contact area with the ground, preventing sinking.

Classified by connection type, it has three main categories: Coupler-type columns (used with 扣件式 scaffolds, connected via adjustable couplers), cuplock-type columns (with integrated cups for snap-on ledger connection), and frame-type columns (part of frame scaffolds, fixed to vertical frames). By load capacity, it ranges from standard (bearing ≤15kN) to heavy-duty (bearing ≥25kN) for large-span or heavy-load scenarios.

In construction, its key roles are: Bearing vertical loads to avoid scaffold collapse; maintaining overall scaffold alignment (verticality deviation ≤1‰ of column height); and enabling modular assembly to adapt to different construction heights (columns can be extended via sleeve joints).

Strict usage rules apply: Select columns matching the calculated load (never use underrated columns); ensure vertical installation (use a level to check); install base plates on flat, solid ground (add padding on soft ground); avoid cutting columns arbitrarily (to prevent strength reduction); and inspect regularly—replace columns with cracks, bending (exceeding L/500, L=column length), or rusted walls immediately to eliminate safety risks.
