A coarse threaded rod, also known as a stud or all-thread rod, is a long, straight bar with continuous coarse external threading along its entire length. Typically made from carbon steel, stainless steel, or alloy steel, it features larger thread pitch (fewer threads per inch) compared to fine threaded rods, allowing for quicker installation and higher load-bearing capacity in applications requiring rapid assembly or where vibration resistance is needed. Common uses include construction, machinery, structural bracing, and as a fastening component in electrical and plumbing systems. It can be cut to custom lengths and paired with nuts, washers, or couplings to create secure, adjustable connections. Surface treatments like zinc plating or hot-dip galvanizing are often applied to enhance corrosion resistance for outdoor or industrial environments.
