The shear wall connecting rod(also known as the shear wall tie rod)is a specialized fastener designed exclusively for shear wall construction.As a key structural element in buildings that resists lateral forces such as wind loads and seismic loads,shear walls have extremely high requirements for the stability and load-bearing capacity of connecting components.The core function of this rod is to secure the shear wall formwork during the concrete pouring phase,preventing the formwork from bulging or shifting due to the lateral pressure of concrete.At the same time,it ensures that the shear wall has a uniform thickness and intact structure after forming.It is a core component for ensuring the construction quality of shear walls in projects such as high-rise residential buildings,commercial complexes,and seismic-resistant structures.
Structural Design Adapted to Shear Wall Requirements
The structure of the shear wall connecting rod is optimized around the special needs of shear wall construction,mainly consisting of three parts:
High-Strength Rod Body:Adopting a full-thread or partial-thread design,it is mostly made of carbon steel or stainless steel,with a diameter usually ranging from 12mm to 20mm—thicker than ordinary through-wall rods.This is because the thickness of shear walls generally reaches 200mm to 500mm,resulting in greater lateral pressure from concrete.The thicker-diameter rod can avoid deformation under stress and ensure the stability of the formwork.
Integrated Waterstop Structure:For underground shear walls such as those in basements and underground garages,a circular waterstop plate with a diameter of 50mm to 80mm is welded in the middle of the rod,or a rubber waterstop ring is sleeved on it.The waterstop structure can block the seepage of groundwater along the gaps of the rod,avoiding potential water leakage in the shear wall—a design rarely found in ordinary through-wall rods.
Supporting Formwork-Locking Accessories:It needs to be used with heavy-duty wing nuts,clamp washers(shanxing ka)and gaskets.The clamp washers are clamped on the wooden battens of the formwork,the wing nuts facilitate quick tightening and fixing,and the gaskets can distribute pressure to prevent local damage to the formwork caused by the extrusion of the nuts,further improving the stability of the formwork.
