The core difference between a waterstop screw and a wall screw?
Although the waterstop screw and the wall screw are both used for the reinforcement of concrete formwork, due to different functional positioning, there are significant differences in structural design, applicable scenarios, use effects and other dimensions, the specific differences are as follows:
1.Core functions and structural differences
The core function of ordinary wall penetrating screws is"fixed template spacing",the structure is a single length screw(or three-stage detachable structure),the surface has no special waterproof design, and only the simple sealing between the template and the screw(such as tape)reduces slurry leakage; On the basis of the"fixed formwork",the waterstop screw additionally assumes the function of"blocking the water seepage channel",and the structure will weld the waterstop plate/waterstop ring in the middle of the screw(mostly 3-5mm thick round steel plates, some with waterstop wings),or use water-expanded rubber sleeves when encountered water, and the waterstop components are closely combined with the concrete after pouring, cutting off the path of water penetration along the screw hole.
2.Differences in applicable scenarios
Ordinary wall penetrating screws are suitable for dry environments without waterproof requirements, such as indoor walls, floor slabs, and beams and columns of non-underground structures in civil buildings. The waterstop screw is specially used in waterproof and wading scenarios, such as basement exterior walls, pools, fire pools, civil air defense basements, etc.,these parts are in contact with groundwater or stagnant water for a long time, and must be prevented by the water-stop structure to prevent leakage, which is the key component to ensure the waterproofness of the project.
3.Differences between usage and subsequent treatment
Ordinary Wall-Tie Bolt(especially three-stage types)can be completely recycled after removing the mold, and can be reused after cleaning and rust prevention, and the screw holes only need to be simply sealed with cement mortar;Because the waterstop screw needs to be permanently combined with the concrete in the middle of the water-stop component, only the exposed part can be cut when the mold is removed, and the main body cannot be recycled(it is a disposable component),and the screw hole needs to be specially waterproofed(such as injecting waterproof mortar and pasting waterproof membrane)to avoid the residual gap becoming a hidden danger of water seepage.
In short, the core difference between the two is"whether it has waterproof function":ordinary Wall-Tie Bolt focus on"reinforcement",low cost and recyclable; The waterstop screw focuses on"reinforcement+waterproofing",with a special structure and one-time use,and is an irreplaceable special component in waterproofing engineering.
